What’s shakin’!? Hey, I’m Rick Jordan today, we’re going all in. It’s important in life, to celebrate the moments that you have. And even more so to me, it’s important, to actually mark those moments with something special for you. And this is something that I struggled with a while back actually being able, I mean, as they call it, smell the roses, right, stop and smell the roses. Because I went through this with a coach of mine literally just three months ago, and it actually clicked finally, because I had always done this right since 2018. And now I have something like six or seven luxury watchpieces that I always use. I mean, you know, Hugh Blow, Breitling Bramante. actually, an interesting story behind that and Tom Cruise and Top Gun Bulgari trying to think of all the others that I have here a panther, I mean, just some pretty amazing pieces that I’ve marked these moments of success and celebration in my life. And it’s important to do this.
But you know, what I’ve tended to do outside of this is just like, we would get to a point or I would get to a point where something would be accomplished after I’ve worked so hard at a grind at it and pushed everything I have towards this to get to this point where I’ve done it, and here it is. It’s it’s complete this portion, this step. And then right away, it was always like, back to it. Let’s go. And, you know, I started to realize it even just a few months ago, that one, it’s not the greatest health for me to do that personally, but especially when you’re leading a team, this is what I noticed is it’s even more important to stop for everybody with you to just for a brief period to recognize the accomplishment that you have, and to even more so recognize the efforts, and just the good emotions that everybody’s feeling. And talking through this with the coach, I’m like, why am I this way? Why am I where it’s just like, alright, we got more to do? Let’s get back to it. You know, it’s like back in baseball, it’s like when I would crush a homerun. So I was one of the best hitters when I played.
That’s why I made all-stars in the travel team, the last two years, you know, when I would crush, just or die for a catch. And I’d get MVP in the game and then get MVP for the whole year. It was like, Cool. Let’s get back to it. There’s another game another day to play another ball to hit another ball to catch. While that’s all true. This coach actually helped me she’s like, well, Rick, I totally see where you’re coming from on that. I’m like, I’m glad you do because I don’t. It’s like I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong with me to where it’s like, I can’t just stop for a brief moment and say, Hey, this is cool. And literally for everybody else around I mean, I high five, I do everything else, you know, how I inspire and how I move people and how I will support and backup literally everybody’s name that I see. And she’s like, I see you, I know what’s going on. And I’m like, really help, please. Like, you’ve worked so long towards this stuff. And you are a manifester, to where you understand that once you get to this point to where it’s like, and this is going to be in sight for every single one of you. Because don’t take the negative from what I’m saying today.
And that, you know, don’t stop at the moment because I’m not saying that. And we’ll get to that take the positive from this and what I’m about to tell you because this is how you’re going to see things continuously build momentum in your life, continuously move you forward, continuously lift you up to the things that you’ve been dreaming about for so many years, is that when you go through all these steps, and you know the work that you put in, you know the sacrifice that you’ve had, you know, the sleepless nights, even up thinking about new ideas, you know, that you showed up an hour early, stayed an hour late, come in on the weekends to help somebody done whatever it takes Ben all in. And you get to the point at least this was me when my my coach was telling me this, when it gets to the point to where it happens to where you you reach that goal that milestone that finish line. It’s like, Duh. Well, of course, it happens.
I know it happened because I did all this stuff to make it happen. I was like holy cow, you really do see me. You really do see like through the core of me to where it’s like that’s exactly how I feel. It’s like, even though we got to that point, and I can breathe for a quick moment. It’s like duh, like, even through all the hard times where I had some of the doubts that I had to push away and constantly push down and look at the evidence and this is important to the evidence that you create for yourself is some of the most important evidence and anchor points that you’re ever going to have in your life because you can always look back at things that you have done and say well I got I completed this step. I completed that so man, this one took a long time but you know what? This is x See, this one was tough. And because I did that, because I completed that, I know that this end result is going to happen. I know I’m not there yet. But I absolutely know that it’s going to happen. Because I’ve been working at it. I’ve been doing everything I can, every single day. I told you about my definition, what all before is a while back is just doing what you can.
Today, if you’ve got 100% to give today, you give 100% of that 100%. If you’re having a crappy day, because you slept badly, you had a bad weekend, you got divorced, you crashed a car, whatever, and you only have 40%. To give today, if you give all of that 40% You were still all in today. So duh, you know that when you accomplish something, I know that when I accomplished something that, of course, it happens. Deep down in the core of who I am, I know that it happened because of what I have done to get it to that point. That’s where my confidence comes from, at least one of the places is because I can look back at those anchor points and evidence that I created myself along the way. Now, at the moment, though, as I was mentioning, it’s like, it’s still important to and this is another positive, it’s still important to in something I had to learn. And to bring across to everybody to say, You know what, this is what you can take from this. And where I thought there was something wrong with me is that there was actually everything right with me, because I had been generating this evidence and these anchor points throughout the past two years, six months, two days, whatever time it took to accomplish that one thing that I was heading towards. And I know you can do the same. I know you can look back and say, Well, I’ve done this before, which means I can do this. I know this one took me six months.
But now because I went through it one time, I know it’s only going to take me six hours because I figured everything out before. And now it becomes repeatable, you build the momentum that way. And that momentum is what carries you forward into the next stuff. I’ve learned though, and I’ve been talking a lot on leadership lately, I’ve learned though, that as a leader, we need to stop in the moments. We need to stop in the moments just for a brief period and have recognition and acknowledgment of the work that led up to it. It’s not about recognition and acknowledgment and stopping about celebrating the accomplishments. What it’s about is celebrating the work and the efforts of the individuals of you who put all that time energy effort and heart and soul in mind into getting to that point. And that’s what we are celebrating. That’s what we are going to continue to recognize and appreciate. And that’s what you need to do to win
GO ALL IN.
